Yannick Smith Gets National And CAA Honors
NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion's junior forward Yannick Smith(Hillsborough, NJ.) has been named CAA Player of the Week, TopDrawersoccer.com and College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
Smith scored five goals in a pair of Old Dominion wins last week. The junior forward found the net twice in the Monarchs' 4-0 triumph over VCU and then recorded a hat trick as ODU topped UNCW, 3-2. Smith, who leads the CAA with 11 goals and 23 points, has four multi-goal games this season, including two hat tricks.
This is Smith's third national honor this season. On Sept. 5, he was selected to TopDrawer Soccer's National Team of the Wee and on Sept. 19 he was named to College Soccer News National team of the week.
The Monarchs (7-2/3-1 CAA) travel up the road to Williamsburg, Va. to take on the Tribe of William and Mary (7-4/4-1 CAA), Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
