KANSAS CITY, Kan. (March 20, 2013) - Anna Estep, a junior forward from the Cannon School (Concord, N.C.) and, Brandon Hill a freshman forward from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School (Columbia, S.C.) have been selected as the NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Soccer Players of the Week.

Estep scored nine goals and registered four assists in her last three games. The junior forward has started six games this season, scoring 21 goals and accumulating eight assists. Estep has verbally committed to play for the University of Pennsylvania, under head coach and NSCAA member, Darren Ambrose.

Estep’s current head coach, Matt Barlow, has described her as an extremely technical player and lauded her ability to find the back of the net.

“When you combine (Estep’s technical ability) with her fitness, speed and strength, she is very tough to stop,” Barlow stated. “She scores by taking players on, from long range, from in close with one touch or headers, from set plays and with both feet. She has an innate work ethic that is unmatched, a fierce competitive drive, and a major passion for soccer.”

Hill was crucial to Heathwood’s last two victories, as he scored the equalizer and game-winning penalty kick in a 2-1 victory over Airport High School. The freshmen captain followed up with a career-high five goals in a 9-1 rout of Orangeburg Preparatory School.

Hill has 22 points this season with 10 goals and two assists. Hill led Heathwood to the state quarterfinals last season with 18 goals.

Other female finalist included Anna Dedmon from Thomas Jefferson High School (Mooresboro, N.C.). The other male finalists included Todd Huber from Riverdale High School (Murfreesboro, Tenn.), Brian Arzate from Burroughs High School (Burbank, Calif.) and Ryan Bellavance from The Rivers High School (Weston, Mass.)

The NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Player of the Week program is designed to highlight the future stars of the game. Anyone can nominate a player, however only players whose coach is a current NSCAA member are eligible for selection. Honorees will be announced on Wednesdays.

The next submission deadline is Monday, March 25, followed by the March 27 announcement.
