It's official. Maria Carrillo is the No. 1 team in the NSCAA year-end fall girls poll for the second straight year.

Maria Carrillo was No. 2 behind idle Houston last week, but a strong finish helped them hop up to the top rank to end the fall campaign on a high note. Maria Carrillo defeated NSCAA-regionally ranked Montgomery 2-1 to capture another North Coast Sectional title and finish the season unbeaten for a second consecutive season. This is the only poll all fall in which Maria Carrillo has appeared as the national No. 1.

Rounding out the top two, Northern Highlands streaked to a state-record 71st straight win last week to book a place in the Group 3 title game on Saturday. If they win, it'll be their third consecutive state title.
