FAB 50 HS Rankings Update: Sept. 30
It seems as if a Fall FAB 50 Top 10 boys ranking is a kiss of death.
For the third straight week, nearly half of the Top 10 suffered defeats, resulting in yet another shuffling of the top teams. The big mover this week is [Delbarton nj-m] (Morristown, N.J.), which vaults to No. 2 following a one-sided sweep of New York programs that included a 6-0 win over former FAB 50-ranked Chaminade (Mineola, N.Y.).
McDonogh School (Owings Mills, md.) boys remain at the top of the pack after rallying for 2-1 victory over league rival Loyola (Towson, Md.) to cap a three-win week. Delbarton moves to No. 2, while Haverford School (Haverford, Pa.) and St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) move up to the Nos. 3 and 4 spots. Avon (Avon, Ind.) and Jesuit (Carmichael, Calif.) return to the Top 10 this week, thanks to recent wins and the large number of previously undefeated teams that lost last week.
On the girls side, Northern Highlands (Allendale, N.J.), Pennington School (Pennington, N.J.), McDonogh School (Owings Mills, Md.), Brebeuf Jesuit (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Maria Carrillo (Santa Rosa, Calif.) remain ranked Nos. 1-5.
