The TeamSnap Winter All-America teams are compiled by TopDrawerSoccer with consultation with coaches and media members from around the country. Players from all seven winter-playing soccer states are eligible for consideration.

TEAMSNAP FIRST TEAM WINTER ALL-AMERICA

FORWARDS

Grace Collins, Houston Memorial (Houston, Texas), Jr.

The TCU(w) commit led Houston Memorial to a breakout season as the team went 28-0-1 and won the Texas 6A state title. Before 2018, Memorial had never advanced beyond the regional level. Collins had 37 goals and 19 assists. She scored twice in the 3-0 state final win over Flower Mound Marcus.

Isabella D'Aquila, JSerra (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.), Jr.

The Santa Clara(w) commit is a two-time CIF Southern Section Division 1 Player of the Year and two-time Orange County Register Player of the Year. D'Aquila scored 39 goals during her junior season, pushing her career total to 101 goals. 

Maya Doms, Davis (Calif.), Jr.

The Stanford(w) commit was namd the SportsStars Excellence in Athletics Girls Soccer Player of the Year after leding Davis to a 22-1-4 season. Doms, who has emerged as an scoring force for the US Under-17 National Team, led Davis in scoring as the team won the Sac-Joaquin Section title and reached the inaugural NorCal Regional Division I quarterfinals. 

Kyla Ferry, [Xavier College Prep az-w] (Phoenix, Ariz.), Jr.

The Colorado(w) commit was named the AZPreps Player of the Year after leading Xavier to a state title. Ferry. who spent time at forward and in the midfielder had 19 goals and 12 assists as Xavier went 15-3-2. 

Taylor Moon, Marcus (Flower Mound, Texas), Sr.

The Baylor(w) signee is the only senior forward on the first team this year. Moon was named the Dallas Morning News Player of the Year after leading Marcus to a state runner-up finish. She had 39 goals and 18 assists.

MIDFIELDERS

Madison Allen, Oviedo (Fla.), Sr.

The UCF(w) signee is a two-time Orlando Sentinel Player of the Year. She led Ovied to a 22-1 season and a state runner-up finish. Allen finished with 17 goals and nine assists for a defensive-minded team that strung together a 21-match shutout streak during the season. 

Abbey Newton, St. Johns Country Day (Orange Park, Fla.), Sr.

The LSU(w) signee capped a stellar high school career by being named the Florida Dairy Farmer's State Player of the Year. Newton had 35 goals and 26 assists to lead St. Johns Country Day to a 26-0 season, a FAB 50 No. 1 ranking and a seventh straight state title. Newton played on all seven state title-winning as she broke into the varsity team's lineup as a sixth-grader. She finished her career with 134 goals and 124 assists. 

Rachel Wasserman, Highland Park (Texas), Sr.

The Penn State(w) signee was named the Dallas Morning News Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 28 goals and added 22 assists during Highland Park's 25-1-1 season. Wasserman was the Dallas Morning News Player of the Year in 2017. Over the past two seasons she led the team to a 52-1-1 record, and she finished her career with 93 goals and 76 assists.

Grace Yochum, Houston Memorial (Houston, Texas), Sr.

The Oklahoma State(w) signee was selected as the Houston Chronicle All-Greater Houston Player of the Year after helping Memorial to a 28-0-1 season and a state title. Yochum had 22 goals and 16 assists. 

DEFENDERS

Kendyll Fritts,  JSerra (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.), So.

The UCLA(w) commit anchored a JSerra defense that allowed only seven goals in a 27-match season, which included a second straight CIF Southern Section Division 1 title. Fritts also was the team's free kick specialist. 

Sydney Shepherd, Monte Vista (Danville, Calif.), Sr.

The Michigan(w) signee  was named the East Bay Athletic League Player of the Year and later collected Prep2Prep All-North Coach Section Player of the Year honors, a rare feat for a defender. Shepherd dominated on a defense that allowed only seven goals in 27 matches, and the team went undefeated on the field (but later forfeited a match).

GOALKEEPER

Ryan Campbell,  JSerra (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.), So.

The UCLA(w) commit recorded 20 shutouts and had four shootout wins to help JSerra to a 22-2-3 record. Campbell's play helped the team to a second straight CIF Southern Section Division I title and a Southern California Regional runner-up finish.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Michael Ortner, St. Scholastica (Covington, La.)

Ortner has followed in his father's footsteps to build a private school power in Louisiana. Ortner coached St. Scholastica to a 23-1-3 season and a Louisiana Division I state title. In 12 years as head coach, Ortner has led St. Scholastica to six state titles, three runner-up finishes and three state semifinal finishes. Ortner's father, Garry, coached the Northshore girls program to four straight state titles before building New Orleans Jesuit into a boys soccer national power during the 1990s and into the 2000s. Michael Ortner recently was reported to be stepping down as head coach atSt. Scholastica.
