La Cueva (Albuquerque, N.M.) girls move into the Southwest Region No. 1 spot this week, giving the school the rare honor of owning regional No. 1 rankings for boys and girls soccer at the same time.

The school's boys and girls varsity programs are a combined 32-1-4 this season.

La Cueva girls are the only new regional No. 1 team this week as last week's regional top teams combined for a 26-1 week.

Last week's marquee regional match took place in Maryland, as then FAB 50 No. 12 Urbana (Ijamsville, Md.) defeated then FAB 50 No. 13 Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) 2-1 in a meeting of undefeated teams and defending champions. Urbana won Maryland Class 3A last fall while Spalding was the MIAA A Conference champs.

Last Week's Champs: Bishop Kelly (Boise, Idaho) completed a 22-0 season with a 4A state title to secure the Idaho girls No. 1 state ranking, ahead of 5A champion Centennial (Boise, Idaho). Meanwhile, Borah jumped from No. 5 to No. 1 in Idaho with a 5A state title. ... American Fork (Utah) girls claimed the state No. 1 ranking by rallying for a 3-1 win over No 2 Syracuse (Utah) in the Utah 6A final.
