HS: No. 1 & 2 set for Prep Top 10 clash
Projecting forward in rankings is always filled with a lot of ifs.
But IF Berkshire School (Mass.) and South Kent School (Conn.) sweep their way to the Prep A and B titles, then one thing is for certain -- this week's heaad-to-head meeting very well could determine the Prep Top 10 champion for 2016.
Berkshire and Sotuh Kent are both undefeated against Prep programs. This annual late-season match has been become an important piece of the rankings since after the contest the two powerhouses -- which have combined to win Prep Top 10 titles every year since 2011 -- head in different playoff directions with no possible rematch.
The game is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. The match will be live streamed by Berkshire School.
The Prep Top 10 is comprised of schools in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council and the Mid-Atlantic Prep League, as well as other independent prep schools. Schools in these rankings are not eligible for the FAB 50 high school rankings because these programs either field post-grad players or compete in a league with or against teams with post-grad and/or fifth-year athletes.
