Three of the nation's longest active fall wins streaks ended last week, and the outcomes led to two new regional No. 1 teams this week.

First, Naperville North (Ill.) boys tied its first two matches, turning a 45-game win streak into a 47-match undefeated run. Then, the Huskies lost to fellow FAB 50 Top 25-ranked Morton (Ill.) on Saturday ending that undefeated run, as well. Naperville North's 0-1-2 start allows Peoria Notre Dame (Ill.) to move into the regional top spot following a 3-0 start, which included a win over FAB 50 Top 25-ranked Fremd (Ill.).

Bishop Gorman (Nev.) girls, which had strung together 49 straight victories since 2017, lost twice in last week to the new No. 2 and 3-ranked teams in Nevada. Gorman's losses allows La Cueva (Nev.) to inherit the top spot in the West region. Bishop Kelly (Idaho) girls saw its 66-match win streak ended in a scoreless tie with Kuna (Idaho).

Regular season play kicks in this week for almost the rest of the fall-playing states, and the key matches include the annual Zionsville Lady Eagle Invitational in Indiana, which features most of the top-ranked Indiana and Kentucky girls teams, and one-off matches with national implications such as FAB 50 No. 1 St. Ignatius (Ohio) boys taking on nationally ranked St. Xavier (Ky.); McDonogh School (Md.) boys facing Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) in a Top 25 showdown; and Girls FAB 50 No. 1 McDonogh School (Md.) opening with Top 25-ranked Good Counsel (Md.).
