There are three Texas teams in hot pursuit of the Winter FAB 50 No. 1 boys ranking, but for now the top spot returns to Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.).

Last week's Top 3 underwent a bit of a shuffle when then No. 1 McKinney Boyd (McKinney, Texas) tied for the second straight outing and No. 2 Brophy Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) was stunned in the Arizona 6A state final. Those results allowed Montverde Academy, which is riding a 174-match undefeated streak, to regain the top spot for the first time since early in the season.

North Shore (Houston, Texas), Alief Elsik (Houston, Texas) and McKinney Boyd follow Montverde in the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 spots with California No. 1 Torrey Pines (San Diego, Calif.) at No. 5.

On the girls side, there was no change in the Top 10, which is led by St. Johns Country Day (Orange Park, Fla.).

BIG MOVERS: BOYS: Canyon Crest Academy (San Diego, Calif.). Canyon Crest played to a second tie with undefeated and FAB 50 No. 5 Torrey Pines last week, helping this program jump from No. 29 to No. 16 this week. ... GIRLS: Mountain View (Calif.). Mountain View gets a chance to avenge its only loss of the season this week, and if so, it will help justify the team's 14-spot jump. The team has moved back into first place in hte league.
