HS: Winter SIMA FAB 50 rankings, Feb. 17
A pair of first-time state champs and a repeat state champ saw their stock rise in this week's SIMA FAB 50 Winter boys soccer rankings.
Chandler (Chandler, Ariz.) and Choctawhatchee (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.) won state titles for the first time, both securing spots in the Top 25. In the upcoming weeks, as California and Texas teams start to thin out, look for Chandler and Choctawhatchee to inch even higher among the nation's elite.
Meanwhile, Gulliver Prep (Miami, Fla.) secured a place among the final Top 10 win its second straight state title, scoring 26 goals in five regional and state playoff matches.
On the girls side, Westlake (Westlake Village, Calif.) was the big mover, jumping to No. 20 this week after a win over previously undefeated Harvard-Westlake (Stuido City, Calif.). The teams split their league matches, which stands as the only loss on either team's record.
