A day after listing Hendrickson (Pflugerville, Texas) as one of the week's big movers, the Austin-area girls team delivered an even greater surprise -- a 4-0 thrashing of former region No. 1 [Westwood tx-w] (Austin, Texas).

That result helped vault Hendrickson to No. 1 in the Texas-South girls region, and likely a lofty SIMA FAB 50 ranking when those are released Tuesday. Henrickson is one of three new region No. 1s this week, which also sees changes at the top of the Mississippi boys and Arizona, California and Louisiana girls state rankings. 

Here are a few big movers this week: 

BOYS

[South Broward (Hollywood) fl-m] (Hollywood, Fla.) jumps to No. 6 in the Florida state rankings after upending Reagan (Miami, Fla.) in the region quarterfinals. Although South Broward was undefeated, the team lacked a major win until putting together back-to-back playoffs victories over St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Reagan, which had previously defeated highly regarding [Doral (Miami) fl-m] (Doral, Fla.).

Byron Nelson (Trophy Club, Texas) is on the list for the second traight week as the team pinned the first loss of the year on Denton Ryan (Denton, Texas), just after Ryan had defeated former SIMA FAB 50-ranked Keller Central (Keller, Texas).

GIRLS

Aliso Niguel (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) swaps places with Carondelet (Calif.) atop of the California state rankings. Aliso Niguel, a former SIMA FAB 50 national champ, defeated SIMA FAB 50-ranked San Clemente (San Clemente, Calif.) last week, while Carondelet was held to a tie by an unranked league rival. Those outcomes allowed Aliso to grab the No. 1 spot, while Carondelet settles in at No. 2.

[Lourdes (Miami) fl-w] (Miami, Fla.) moves into the No. 3 spot in Florida-South after ousting Cypress Bay (Weston, Fla.) to advance to this week's state semifinals. Lourdes is 21-2-2 with losses only to region No. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and American Heritage-Plantation (Plantation, Fla.).
