No change at the top of the Prep Top 10s
Theres a new kid on the block — finally.
Mercersburg Academy (Mercersburg, Pa.) makes its Boys Prep Top 10 debut after another week of one-sided wins. Truth be told, though, it was the team's early victory over Kiski School (Saltsburg, Pa.), which tied last week's No. 10 Western Reserve Academy (Hudson, Ohio), that makes Mercersburg Top 10 worthy.
This storied school in Franklin County, Pa., is 12-0 — a win shy of a school record — and the victories include wins over teams from four states. More importantly, Mercersburg's results are similar to scores posted by high school power St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) this season. Mercersburg has outscored its opponents 78-3 this season, and it plays in the league final this week against a team it recently defeated 11-0.
On the girls side, there was not much change as the Top 10 teams went 14-0-3 against unranked opponents last week.
