The Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy (SIMA) has officially released its 2020 Summer Camp dates to be held on the campus of Montverde Academy in Orlando, Florida during the month of July, 2020.  Registration and additional information can be found at www.soccersima.com

SIMA will offer a week long day camp option for boys and girls ages 3-12 and two overnight camp options for boys only between the ages of 10 and 19.  Our “Legends of the Game” overnight camp experience will be held from July 12-18 for boys only between the ages 10-14.  Our “College ID” overnight camp experience featuring NCAA Division I college coaches from around the country will be held on July 19-25 for boys only between the ages of 15-19.

“I am really looking forward to our SIMA Summer Camp experience in July,” said Potempa. “The SIMA Program continues to be 100% committed to offering a true developmental experience for every athlete who wants to participate.”

For years, the SIMA Program has gone to great lengths to inspire young soccer players of all ages and ability levels to improve their skills while having fun practicing their passion. Our summer camp curriculum will be specific to each age group with varying objectives for everyone. The SIMA Day Camp will specialize in basic fundamentals of the game for the youngest athletes in our soccer community, while our Junior and Senior Elite overnight camps will target high-level athletes between the ages of 10-19 who will reside on the campus of Montverde Academy for a week of intense training.

“Since 2010, the SIMA Program has produced over 300 student-athletes who have gone on to continue their passion at collegiate level and over 50 professional athletes currently playing in leagues around the world,” Potempa noted. “For the first time in our history, we will now share our holistic approach to soccer specific development with the public and we look forward to working with anyone who has an interest in joining us for an unforgettable experience.”

Day Camp Experience: July 6-10

Basic fundamentals are the cornerstone of the SIMA Day Camp experience. Geared towards boys and girls ages three through 12, this commuter camp is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Monday through Friday.  Our experienced SIMA staff will be teaching soccer skills through fun games and activities while they share their passion for the game with our next generation of soccer stars. Lunch is included during these five days of SIMA fun.

Junior Elite “Legends of the Game” Overnight Camp: July 12-18

During SIMA’s “Legends of the Game” Summer Camp Experience, some of the most influential players in the game will be on campus working with our athletes for the week. This camp edition is for boys ages 10 through 14.  Former professionals such as Salif Diao, Senegalese International and Liverpool legend who captained the Senegalese National Team during the 2002 FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan; Oguchi Onyewu, a two-time FIFA World Cup veteran played for the United States National Team, AC Milan, Newcastle United, FC Metz, and Sporting Lisbon; Benji Michel, Jordan Bender, and Mason Lamb are SIMA alumni who currently play for Orlando City SC in the MSL; and Frederico Moojen, Canadian International Futsol professional, whose career throughout the world includes Asia, Canada, Europe, and the U.S. Our Junior Elite overnight camp will truly be a unique experience that will inspire our young talents to pursue their dreams and be the best they can be!

Senior Elite “College ID Program” Overnight Camp: July 19-25

SIMA is proud to present the Senior Elite College ID camp experience to boys ages 15 through 19. This overnight camp experience is for those who have the passion and skills to train for seven days in an intense and serious environment. As the college recruiting process begins for those who possess elite skills and ambition to play at the collegiate level, this camp provides the opportunity to train with experienced coaches from NCAA DI institutions. These coaches will work directly with athletes in training sessions and matches. These coaches matriculate from 13 NCAA Division I institutions, many who currently work with SIMA alumni including: Boston University, Clemson University, Drexel University, Jacksonville University, Oregon State University, Rutgers University, Seton Hall University, Southern Methodist University, University of Central Florida, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Pittsburgh, University of San Francisco, and Virginia Tech.
