TopDrawerSoccer is pleased to unveil the Fall High School Best XI, highlighting the top players from the latest prep soccer seasons. Only athletes from states that wrapped up the high school season by December qualify for the list. The criteria used to evaluate the candidates considered several factors, including post-season honors, trophies won, individual accomplishments, impact on winning, and the difficulty level of the respective league and classification.

First Team Best XI

GK Mattis Macmillan, Coeur d’Alene Charter (Idaho) - In an epic season, Macmillan received Idaho state player of the year honors as he led Coeur d'Alene Charter to the state title with 17 shutouts and only two goals allowed in 19 games. No other keeper dominated their classification like the senior from Idaho.

D Callan Spear, Beaverton (Oregon) - Whenever Beaverton called on Spear, he delivered, leading the team to its first Oregon 6A title in 40 years. The junior center back anchored a defense that conceded single-digit goals in 19 games and scored the penalty kick that ended the drought. All eyes will be on the Beavers' star next season, especially after he received 6A Player of the Year honors.

D Marcus Jackson, West Orange (New Jersey) - Jackson had a commanding season, captaining West Orange to a state championship as one of the best center backs in the country. That led to New Jersey Player of the Year honors, as the UCLA(m) commit stood out in one of the nation's top high school regions.

D Adler Sauer, Hoggard (North Carolina) - After years of disappointment, the Vikings finally won a North Carolina state title, with Sauer, a senior captain, as the dominant center back leading the 22-1-2 season. Sauer directed a defense that allowed less than one goal per game and added seven goals and five assists as a well-rounded threat.

M Henry Sanders, SLUH (Missouri) - The Missouri soccer scene is intense, yet Sanders navigated it with ease, leading Saint Louis University High School to a state championship in the highest classification. The uncommitted senior midfielder did everything needed for the team to finish 24-3-2 and win a second straight title.

M Liam Cahill, Madison West (Wisconsin) - Cahill earned his spot after leading Madison West to its first state title in 37 years and winning Wisconsin Player of the Year honors. The Marquette(m)  commit did not have gaudy numbers, but his physicality and box-to-box play as a 6-3 midfielder were crucial to the team.

M Brady Stamp, Lincoln (South Dakota) - It was business as usual in South Dakota as Stamp, the reigning Gatorade State Player of the Year, led Lincoln to a third straight title. The senior attacker recorded 24 goals and 8 assists for 56 points, 20 more than last year.

M Viktor Permyashkin, Lewisburg (Pennsylvania) - Combining clutch play with consistent dominance, the Bucknell(m)  commit was one of the stars of the fall high school slate. Permyashkin’s final goal was his best, delivering an ingenious long-range chip to win the semi-final in overtime. The Green Dragons then won the final, with the senior finishing the campaign with 27 goals and 17 assists.

F Dylan Willingham, Washburn Rural (Kansas) - Willingham made his final high school season his best, breaking the school single-season (37) and career (67) goal scoring records to end a 13-year championship drought. The Omaha(m)  commit did it while playing in the highest classification the underrated Kansas soccer scene has to offer.

F Gavin Flickinger, Coronado (Nevada) - Words cannot do justice to the high school career the Fordham(m) commit just wrapped up as one of the greatest in American history. The reigning Gatorade Nevada Player of the Year shattered the single-season (67) and career (127) state goal scoring records while leading the Cougars to a 25-0 record and third consecutive title.

F Amadou Aly Hann, St. Benedict’s Prep (New Jersey) - The best player on arguably the best team in the country, Hann was a guarantee for the Best XI. The junior forward combined highlight reel goals with consistent production to lead the Grey Bees to a 19-0-1 record despite playing a schedule packed with games against Division I talent.
