FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The spring season is comprised of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Georgia Class AAAA state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,150 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Georgia Southern signee Louie Aponte scored the lone goal as St. Pius won a third straight state title with a 1-0 victory over Cross Keys. The Golden Eagles have won four state titles in coach David Shea's five years at the helm, and 11 overall for the program. St. Pius finished the season with 18 shutouts, which included a 4-0 win over St. Joseph's (S.C.), a state title-winner.

Season Complete. Georgia Class AAAAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Dalton capped a third straight state title with a 4-0 win over Allatoona in the state final. Senior standout Kobe Perez scored two goals. Churrui Huitanda had a goal and one assist. Dalton now has a spring-best 65-match undefeated run (64-0-1) and rolled through the postseason outscoring its five playoff opponents 32-0.

Tristan Coldrake had a goal and assisted on Darius Doswell's score as Johnston edged Ankeny Centennial in a regular-season ending meeting between 16-0 teams.

Cosby Midlothian, VA 15-1-0
Cosby closed out regular-season play with a 3-0 win over Huguenot last week, receiving goals from three players. Cosby also pinned a 3-1 defeat on former SIMA FAB 50-ranked Midlothian last week.

Houston Germantown, TN 22-1-2*
Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Houston converted two penalty kicks to edge Science Hill 3-2 in the state final match. Trailing 1-0, Stefano Della Rosa cashed in a PK to tie the score right before halftime. Peyton Mcknatt gave Houston a 2-1 lead early in the second half before Ben Sheppard chased in another PK to up the lead to 3-1. Houston surrendered a late goal for the final margin. Houston's win over Science Hill came two months and one week after Science Hill had defeated Houston, which ended up being the eam's only setback this season. Houston also had a win over Division II-AA, private school runner-up Christian Brothers.

Season Complete. Oklahoma Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,225 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Collin Short scored just 82 seconds into overtime as Norman North defending its state title with a 2-1 victory over Jenks. Norman North defeated Broken Arrow in the state semifinals. Norman North has been in the state final four straight years, winning three times. The program has six state titles in the last six years. The seniors posted a 51-5 record during their four years in the program.

School Facts: Public, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Clemson signee Michele Bottari scored the lone goal as J.L. Mann defeated Wando 1-0 for the program's second title in four seasons. J.L. Mann and Wando have played for three of the last four Class 4A state titles.

Season Complete. South Carolina Class AAAA state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Wando's bid for a second straight state title came up short in a 1-0 loss to J.L. Mann in the final. Wando posted its second win over the year over River Bluff in the state semifinals, which avenged the team's only regular-season setback.

School Facts: Public, 2,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Daniel Arnstein and Alexander Garuba scored the goals that carried Duluth to a 2-0 win over defending state champion Brookwood in the state final.

School Facts: Public, 3,000 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: River Bluff's season ended with a 4-3 state semifinal setback to Wando. Connor Slattery scored twice in the match. The Gators have reached the state semifinals both years of the school's existence. During the season, River Bluff split its matches with Wando.

School Facts: Public, 2,400 students, grades 10-12.
NOTES: Bryson Colemere scored both goals as Alta defeated league rival Brighton 2-1 in the state final. The result marked the 14th state title for coach Lee Mitchell, who has coached the school's storied boys and girls programs since their inception in the 1980s.

NOTES: Allatoona's 19-match undefeated run was ended in a 4-0 state final loss to Dalton. En route to the final, Allatoona defeated Riverwood in penalty kicks.

NOTES: Riverwood's postseason run ended with a shootout loss to Allatoona following a scoreless match. Riverwood defeated Houston County in the playoffs, ending Houston County's undefeated run.

NOTES: Houston County's undefeated season ended with a 3-1 playoff loss to Riverwood. The Bears handed Greenbrier its lone regular-season defeat.

School Facts: Public, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Greenbrier's season ended with a one-sided loss to Dalton in the state semifinals. Greenbrier's other loss was to Houston County. The Wolf Pack won the Regions Border Classic Soccer Invitational, beating eventual South Carolina private school state champion Cardinal Newman 2-1 in the final.

Season Complete. South Carolina Independent Schools Association Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Private, 450 students, grades 7-12.
NOTES: Cardinal Newman was pushed to penalty kicks, but emerged as state champion for the third straight year, beating Porter-Gaud following a 1-1 match. The Cardinals won their last 22 matches, which included winning the Nike Palmetto Cup. The team had early losses to Wando and Greenbrier (Ga.). The senior-heavy lineup features three NCAA Division I signees in Christian Kirol (Kentucky), Jack Sicker (Wofford) and Cam Parker (Presbyterian College). Cam Bohannon has committed to Roanoke College.

Langley McLean, VA 14-1-1
Daniel Levetown assisted all three Langley goals last week as the Saxons defeated Madison 2-1 and Fairfax 1-0. Delaware commit Cole Stinger, a goalkeeper, has anchored the team's stellar defense this season. Sophomore Jacob Labovitz recently returned to the lineup after a training with Chesterfield United's youth academy in England.

Montgomery Bell Academy Nashville, TN 13-1-2*
Season Complete. Tennessee Division II-AA state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 725 students, grades 7-12.
NOTES: After avenging its only loss with an overtime victory over McCallie in the state semifinals, MBA claimed its first TSSAA state title with a 3-0 win over SIMA FAB 50-ranked Christian Brothers. Andrew Conwell gave MBA a 1-0 lead. Ellis Moore and Davis Luster added goals in the final five minutes as MBA put away the match.

School Facts: Private, all-boys, 930 students, grades 6-12.
NOTES: Drew Viscomi had a goal and one assist, but McCallie fell to Montgomery Bell Academy 3-2 in overtime in the state semifinal. McCallie had defeated MBA earlier in the season.

Central Valley Spokane Valley, WA 18-0-0
Brian Choate netted the game-winner in overtime as Central Valley defeated Pasco 1-0 to advance to this week's state semifinals. For Central Valley coach Andres Monrroy, this marks his second semifinal appearance this year -- he coached the school's fall-playing girls soccer team to state titles the past two seasons.

Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Science Hill scored first and last, but the three it allowed in between resulted in a state runner-up finish to Germantown Houston. Miller Franklin and Elliott Fry scored for Science Hill in the 3-2 setback. In the state semifinals, Science Hill knocked off previously undefeated Hardin Valley.

Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 1,850 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Hardin Valley's undefeated season ended with a 2-0 loss to Science Hill in the semifinals. In the quarterfinal round, Hardin Valley routed Brentwood 5-0 behind two-goal efforts from Tom Sissom and Cameron Schneider.

Albemarle Charlottesville, VA 15-0-1
Junior Brendan Moyers had three goals and two assists as Albemarle routed Patrick Henry-Ashland 8-0 in a conference semifinal match last week. The contest was halted by the eight-goal mercy rule with just under 15 minutes remaining. The conference final, originally slated for last week, was pushed to early this week.

Hickory Chesapeake, VA 13-0-3
Hickory edged Warwick 3-2 to close out an undefeated regular season, but was scheduled to meet Warwick again early this week in the first round of the conference tournament. Hickory needs to win the rematch in order to secure a place in the regional tournament.
