FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Henry Bowland had a goal and one assist while Giovanni Garcia netted the other goal as LEE defeated Smithson Valley 2-0 in the team's only match last week.
2 (2) Alief Elsik Houston, TX 9-0-0
Osvaldo Valdez started the scoring and UAB signee Mayno Linares finished with two assists as Elsik wrapped up nonleague play with a 3-0 win over Aldine Eisenhower.
3 (3) St. Paul's Covington, LA 23-0-0
St. Paul's topped the 100-goal threshold last week during wins over Northshore (7-0) and Mandeville (6-0). The team's offensive highlight last week came from James Bradford, who scored the first three goals in the win over Mandeville.
4 (4) Doral Academy Doral, FL 16-0-0
Doral Academy stayed perfect with a 5-2 win over LaSalle last week.
5 (5) Wakeland Frisco, TX 10-0-0
Wakeland won both outings last week, 1-0 over Centennial and 6-3 over Lone Star. VCU commit William Hitchcock converted a free kick for the game-winner against Centennial. William Heidman and Marlon Williams each scored twice while Columbia commit Bryson Bezdek added a goal and one assist for the Wolverines against Lone Star.

Montgomery Santa Rosa, CA 14-0-0
Montgomery continued its one-sided ru through league play, pinning a 5-0 defeated on rival Santa Rosa. The Vikings then closed out its nonleague regular season schedule with a 4-0 win over Napa, which recently played SIMA FAB 50 No. 26 Vintage to a 2-1 contest.

Marcus Flower Mound, TX 7-0-1
Marcus rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to defeat regionally ranked Irvine 4-3 last week in a meeting between teams that entered the match undefeated.

San Clemente San Clemente, CA 18-1-2
Jason Watkins had a goal and one assist to pace San Clemente to a 3-2 victory over Capistrano Valley. The result moved the Tritons back to the top of the league standings, just ahead of Mission Viejo. San Clemente and Mission Viejo clash this week in a match that could determine the league title and a top seed in the section playoffs.

Montverde Academy Montverde, FL 15-1-1*
Caue Novaes scored all three goals as Montverde Academy edged Tampa Jesuit 3-2 to highlight a busy week. The Eagles closed out their season with five matches played in five consecutive days last week. The Eagles rotated rosters for each match and went 4-0-01. Alfred Baafi had a four-goal outing in an 8-0 win over Hardee.

Santa Barbara Santa Barbara, CA 15-1-4
Santa Barbara is riding a seven-match undefeated streak since a loss to SIMA FAB 50 No. 8 San Clemente, yet the Dons were held to a draw last week by San Marcos. Santa Barbara remains one point ahead of Santa Ynez in the Channel League standings and those teams square off Tuesday.

Alex Herrera and Alex Delgado scored the goals as Duncanville remained undefeated with a 2-0 win over John Tyler.

Southlake Carroll Southlake, TX 8-1-0
Robbie Pino netted the lone goal as Carroll edged Keller 1-0 in the team's only match last week. The Dragons have won eight in a row.

Naples Naples, FL 17-1-1
Naples defeated Golden Gate and Lely last week, both teams had spent time in the Florida-South rankings this season. Chris Torres scored twice and Luis Baldivieso added two assists in the team's 4-0 win over Golden Gate. Baldivieso then scored all three as Naples edged Lely 3-2.

Boca Raton Boca Raton, FL 20-0-0
Boca Raton rolled up four wins last week to move within one victory of a perfect regular season. The Bobcats make a significant jump this week, and the upcoming playoffs could be the springboard to an even higher ranking.
15 Bishop Amat La Puente, CA 10-0-2
Bishop Amat makes a major move in the rankings this week after stunning SIMA FAB 50 No. 19 Cathedral 3-2 in overtime. Despite Bishop Amat's undefeated record entering the match, the Lancers did not have any major victories. All of that changed when Adrian Ochoa headed home the game-winner in the closing seconds of overtime, which ended Cathedral's 57-match league undefeated streak. According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Bishop Amat was 0-19-1 in its last 20 matches against Cathedral.

Simi Valley Simi Valley, CA 16-1-0
Simi Valley's perfect season ended with a league loss to Camarillo, 4-3 in overtime. But the Pioneers bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Oak Park on goals by Dylan Studer and Tony Reyes.

Tompkins Katy, TX 10-0-1
Tristan Skarya scored twice to help Tompkins to a 3-1 win over Brazoswood last week in the team's only outing.
18 (18) Tampa Jesuit Tampa, FL 17-3-2
Tampa Jesuit ended regular season play with a 3-2 setback to SIMA FAB 50 No. 9 Montverde Academy last week.
19 (19) Cathedral Los Angeles, CA 10-4-2
Cathedral saw its record-setting 57-match league undefeated streak come to an end with a loss to Bishop Amat, 3-2 in overtime last week. The Phantoms bounced back with a 4-0 win over Bishop Montgomery to stay in second place in the league standings. Four different players scored for Cathedral in the win.
20 (20) Loyola Los Angeles, CA 14-2-3
Loyola is riding a nine-match undefeated streak since a loss to Cathedral. However, the Cubs hit a slit road bump last week in a scoreless draw with Crespi. Earlier in the week, Loyola thrashed Harvard-Westlake 5-1, marking the team's second four-goal win over the recent SIMA FAB 50 member in less than a week.

Daveen Mazaheri-Campos had an assist in the team's 2-0 win over Reagan, then scored twice in a 3-0 victory over St. Mary's Hall last week.

San Ramon Valley flexed its muscle last week with a pair of league wins Tuesday and Thursday, then posted a 3-0 victory over nonleague opponent Newark Memorial last week.

Like league rival San Ramon Valley, De La Salle won a pair of league matches before handing Vintage a 4-2 defeat last week, dropping that squad just outside of the SIMA FAB 50 Top 25.

Sam Houston was pushed to a shootout by league rival Arlington, yet came away the winner in this district clash. Several Texas districts use penalty kicks to resolve regulation ties in district play.

Grand Prairie, whose losses are to SIMA FAB 50 No. 11 Duncanville and No. 12 Carroll, closed out the nonleague portion of its schedule with a 4-2 win over Trinity last week.
