The winter season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Texas Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,870 students in grades 9-12.
NOTES: Baylor signee Sarah King scored the first goal and Coppell never looked back in a 3-0 win over Highland Park in a battle of undefeated teams in the Texas Class 6A state final. The win gave retiring coach Chris Stricker his 335th victory at the school and capped a first-ever SIMA FAB 50 national title for this perennial power. Coppell made a compelling point for finishing No. 1, pinning the only loss on No. 3 American Heritage (Fla.), which tied No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.). Coppell also shut out Grapevine, which beat California section champ Liberty, which handed Top 10-ranked Monte Vista (Calif.) its only setback. The Cowgirls went 10-0-2 against teams in the final SIMA FAB 50, and 14-0-2 against teams that appeared in the rankings this season.

St. Thomas Aquinas Fort Lauderdale, FL 24-1-1

School Facts: Private, 2,175 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sophomore Isabella Dorosy scored both goals in the closing minutes as St. Thomas Aquinas defeated Oviedo 2-0 for the program's second straight state title, fourth in five years and 14th overall. The match was scoreless until five minutes left when Dorosy scored on an assist from her sister, senior Dallas Dorosy -- a Florida State commit. Isabella Dorosy added the second goal with 44 seconds left on an assist from Isabella Martinez. During the regular season, the Raiders lost to Cypress Bay and tied American Heritage-Plantation. St. Thomas then twice beat Cypress Bay in the playoffs en route to the state title.

American Heritage-Plantation Plantation, FL 21-1-2
Season Complete. Florida Class 3A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 2,286 students, grades PK-12.
NOTES: Junior Dejah Cason delivered the match-winning goal in overtime as American Heritage-Plantation defeated Land O'Lakes 2-1 for the program's third straight state title. Emily Vazquez gave American Heritage a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the match. The Patriots, led by Florida signee Melanie Monteagudo, held that advantage until midway through the second half. During the regular season, American Heritage played St. Thomas Aquinas to a scoreless tie and lost to Coppell (Texas) in its first appearance at the National Elite Prep Showcase in January.
4 (4) Bishop Lynch Dallas, TX 25-2-1
Season Complete. TAPPS Division I state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,150 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Missouri signee Natalie McDonough scored the deciding goal as Bishop Lynch defeated Ursuline Academy 2-1 in the state final, ending Ursuline's national record string of consecutive state titles at 24. Bishop Lynch, which lost twice to Ursuline during the regular season, built a 2-0 lead en route to the victory. Texas commit Atu Mshana was the team's defensive MVP. Seton Hall signee Eva Gonzalez gave Bishop Lynch a 1-0 lead. McDonough's score, assisted by Florida State signee Kaycie Tillman, put the Friars up 2-0.

Santiago/Corona Corona, CA 26-1-8
Season Complete. Southern California Regional Division I champion. CIF Southern Section Division 2 champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,750 students in grades 9-12.
NOTES: Santiago rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the match in regulation and ultimately defeat Carlsbad in penalty kicks in the SCR final. The win made the Sharks the first Inland area team to win an SCR title. Santiago defeated Oaks Christian en route to the Southern Section Division 2 title a week earlier. Senior keeper and San Jose State signee Paige Simoneau recorded 18 shutouts for Santiago.

School Facts: Public, 2,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Senior Megan Monier scored the deciding goal in the 71st minute as Liberty upset Monte Vista 2-1 in the section final. The victory avenged an earlier loss to Monte Vista. Liberty's only other setback was to Grapevine (Texas) in the National Elite Prep Showcase.

Season Complete. CIF North Coast Section Division I runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,215 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Monte Vista's 49-match undefeated streak and 34-match win streak ended with a 2-1 loss to Brentwood Liberty in the section final. After conceding an early own goal, the Mustangs evened the score on a Maya Nielan goal midway through the second half. Monte Vista defeated Liberty early in the season.

Season Complete. Women's Invitational Soccer Tournament champions.
School Facts: Private, 1,100 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy ended the season on a 19-match win streak, which included a 4-0 win over the team that it tied to start the season. The underclass-dominated Eagles were led offensively by sophomore Maria Santin with 23 goals and seven assists, junior Nathali DaSilva with 18 goals and nine assists, freshman Shayla Smart with 15 goals and 13 assists and sophomore Fabiola Villalobs with 13 goals and nine assists. Four of the five seniors on the team have committed to NCAA Division II programs, and the other has committed to an NAIA program. Junior Jasmine Spence as committed to Mercer. The Eagles went 10-0-1 against teams that either won district titles or were district runners-up.

School Facts: Public, 2,050 students in grades 9-12.
NOTES: Highland Park carried an undefeated record into the state final and had not allowed a goal in the playoffs. But there was no storybook finish for this perennial 4A power making its large school bracket state final as the team lost 3-0 to top-ranked Coppell. On the way to the final, Highland Park blanked Westlake and Cinco Ranch.

NOTES: Southlake Carroll's season ended with a 3-0 loss to Coppell in the regional semifinal. The Dragons lost twice to Coppell and once to Westlake this season. The team posted key wins over

NOTES: Kristina Sola scored twice as Archbishop Mitty pulled away for a 5-2 win over Leigh in the section final. The victory marked the 13th section title for the Monarchs.

NOTES: Hebron's bid for a second straight state title ended with a 1-0 loss to Southlake Carroll. The Hawks won the District 6-6A title, the state's "powerhouse" group. Hebron split with Plano West and posted a win and a draw with McKinney Boyd.

NOTES: Cypress Bay's season ended with a 2-1 loss to eventual state champion St. Thomas Aquinas in the region semifinals. Cypress Bay defeated Aquinas in the team's first meeting, but Aquinas won the later meetings -- first in the district final and then again in the regional semifinal.

NOTES: Hayley Mayne, Megan Grant and Hadley Sbrega scored the goals as La Costa Canyon defeated Southern Section Division I champion Mater Dei 3-1 to claim the SCR title. La Costa Canyon was coming off a San Diego Section Open title, where it beat Cathedral Catholic in the semifinals and Carlsbad in the final.

NOTES: Plano West pushed Coppell to a shootout before falling to the Cowgirls following a 1-1 match. Plano West, which split their regular-season matches with Hebron, finished second to Hebron in the district race. Plano West's other key victory was a win over Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) during the National Elite Prep Showcase.

NOTES: UCLA commit Sunny Dunphy scored three goals and Stanford commit Olivia Erlbeck added two goals as Cathedral Catholic rolled to a 6-1 win over Oaks Christian in the SCR final. Cathedral Catholic, the preseason SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 team, has won four regional titles in the eight-year event. Cathedral Catholic, which beat Carlsbad during the regular season, lost to La Costa Canyon in the sectional semifinals.

NOTES: BYU signee Brianna Hatch scored with six seconds left in overtime, lifting Highland to a 1-0 victory over Desert Vista. The teams had split their earlier meetings. In addition to winning the state title, Highland defeated Desert Vista for the Arizona Showcase title in December.

NOTES: Westlake's 19-match win streak ended with a 2-0 loss to Highland Park in the state finals. Westlake, which allowed only four goals during the regular season, allowed four goals in four playoff matches. Highland Park was the only team to score twice on Westlake this season.

NOTES: Shelby Lee and Summer Mason scored to give Carlsbad a 2-0 lead in the SCR final, but Santiago rallied to tie the match and win it in a shootout. Carlsbad finished as the section runner-up to La Costa Canyon.

NOTES: Josselyn Cabrera's goal tied the game at 1, but La Costa Canyon responded with two goals to win the SCR final. Mater Deishut out Madera South and Scripps Ranch to reach the SCR final, which was a week after Mater Dei defeated Laguna Hills for the Southern Section Division I title.

NOTES: After missing a penalty kick that could have cut the score to 2-1, Oaks Christian fell apart in a 6-1 loss to cathedral Catholic. The Lions, led by Southern Cal commit Samantha Bruder, had allowed only 16 goals all season prior to the SCR final. Oaks Christian defeated Southern Section Division I runner-up Laguna Hills in the SCR semifinals.

NOTES: LSU signee Alex Thomas was named Division II Player of the year after a 57-goal, 15-assist season. Thomas, who spent three years at Ben Franklin, will graduate early in order to start college in the fall. In four years of high school play, including an eighth season on varsity, scored 189 career goals. The Falcons have gone 61-0-2 the past three years against Louisiana programs.
