The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy closed out one of the most bizarre seasons in memory with a 4-0 win over regionally ranked Holy Names. The Eagles, which opted not to compete in the state tournament this year after winning back-to-back titles, played only three matches after Dec. 13 as seven teams canceled games against this state power. This year's team was led by Jamaican National Team player Jody Brown, who has committed to Florida State, UCF commit Maria Tregansin and South Florida commit Vivianne Bessette. Montverde Academy's signature win was a 3-2 decision over Bartram Trail, which went on to a 5-0 state final win in the Florida Class 7A final, featuring the state's largest schools.

Upland Upland, CA 29-0-1*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I champion. Southern Section Division 1 runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,300 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Washington State commit Marin Whieldon scored her second goal with less than two minutes remaining as Upland edged JSerra 3-2 for the SoCal Division I regional title. The win marked the Highlanders' second regional title in three years. Erin Schrock gave Upland a 1-0 lead. Whieldon's first goal, a penalty kick, made it 2-1 and her second goal made it 3-2. The lone blemish on Upland's record was a shootout loss to Santiago in the Southern Section Division I final. In the regional tournament, Upland defeated regionally ranked Carlsbad and SIMA FAB 50 Top 25-ranked Cathedral Catholic to reach the final.

NOTES: St. Agnes ended 30 years of DFW dominance of TAPPS with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Nolan Catholic, which finished as state runner-up for the 18th time in 29 years. St. Agnes' only loss this season came to Marcus during the National Elite Prep Showcase in early January. The Tigers were led by a star-studded lineup that featured Texas A&M signee Lauren Geczik, Notre Dame commit Leah Klenke, Rice commit Kenna Sanders, among others. Freshman standout Jaide-Simone Prejean scored a pair of first-half goals against Nolan en route to a 4-0 halftime lead. Klenke also finished with two goals.
10 (10) Bartram Trail St. Johns, FL 21-1-3*
Season Complete. Florida Class 7A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,310 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Five players scored goals as Bartram Trail rolled to a 5-0 victory over SIMA FAB 50-ranked Cypress Bay in the state final. The convincing win over the Florida-South No. 2-ranked squad vaults Bartram Trail to No. 2 in the final state rankings. The only loss Bartram Trail sustained was a 3-2 setback to undefeated Montverde Academy. In the final against Cypress Bay, New Hampshire signee Ella Dudley, Troy signee Paige Hunt, sophomore Jordan Follenweider and freshmen Olivia Bori and Grace Ivey scored the goals.

Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I runner-up. Southern Section Division 1 semifinalist.
School Facts: Private, 1,300 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Loyola Marymount commit Abby Lynch, a junior, and Stanford signee Samantha Williams scored the goals, each time tying the match, before JSerra fell 3-2 to Upland in the regional final. It marked the second regional final loss to Upland in the past three seasons. JSerra's senior class also included Jordyn Gather (UCLA), Ryan Campbell (Stanford), Kendyll Fritts (Colorado), Kennedy Carter (Utah) and Isabella Beltran (Loyola-Marymount).
12 (12) Mira Costa Manhattan Beach, CA 24-2-1*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I semifinalist. Southern Section Division 2 champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,510 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: After stunning Santiago in the regional quarterfinals, Mira Costa pushed JSerra to a shootout before losing. The Mustangs won the Southern Section Division 2 title with a 5-1 victory over Oak Hills, a team that went on to win the SoCal Division II regional title. Duke signee Grace Watkins, Notre Dame signee Ashley Naylor and Michigan commit Sierra Sargent led a team that gave coach Patty Perkinson her first CIF sectional title after 31 years.
13 (13) Santiago/Corona Corona, CA 16-6-4*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I quarterfinalist. CIF Southern Section Division 1 champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,580 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Santiago won 14 matches in a row until falling to Mira Costa 2-0 in the regional quarterfinals. The Sharks featured a lineup on nine NCAA Division I committed players. The Sharks swept through a loaded Southern Section Division 1 bracket with wins over San Clemente, Corona del Mar, Villa Park and JSerra -- all FAB 50 teams this season -- before upending then SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 Upland in the final on penalty kicks.
14 (14) Los Alamitos Los Alamitos, CA 22-5-4*
Season Complete. CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinalist.
School Facts: Public, 3,350 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Just like last year, Los Alamitos' season ended with a loss to JSerra. The difference -- last year the teams met in the section and regional finals with JSerra winning both. This year, JSerra knocked out Los Alamitos in the sectional quarterfinals, 2-0. The Griffins had a strong showing in 2019-20, led by Pepperdine commit Tabitha LaParl, Santa Clara commit Colby Barnett and Colorado signee Jayden Newkirk. The highlight win for the Griffins was a 4-0 decision over Archbishop McCarthy (Fla.) during a tournament in California. The Griffins had a 1-0 win over Santiago in the regular sason and key wins over Villa Park and Cathedral Catholic. The victory over Cathedral Catholic earned Los Alamitos the Excalibur Tournament title in December.
15 (15) Cathedral Catholic San Diego, CA 23-3-3*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I semifinalist. San Diego Section Open champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,650 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Cathedral Catholic's season ended with a 3-2 loss to Upland in the regional semifinals in a match where Cathedral Catholic held the lead twice. Junior Caylee Hornaday put the Dons ahead 1-0 and freshman Kate Dalton gave the team a 2-1 lead. Cathedral Catholic carried a 15-match win streak and 16-match undefeated streak into the contest with Upland. During the season, Cathedral Catholic had two wins over regionally ranked Edison and Carlsbad and also beat Carondelet en route to a second-place finish to Los Alamitos at the Excalibur Tournament. Arkansas commit Sophia Aragon, a junior, led the Dons in scoring for the season.
16 (16) Carondelet Concord, CA 23-5-1*
Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I champion. North Coast Section Division I semifinalist.
School Facts: Private, all-girls, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: In a reversal of last year, Carondelet bounced back from a section semifinal finish to win the regional title, edging Archbishop Mitty 1-0. Notre Dame commit Ellie Ospeck scored the winning goal. Last year Carondelet won the section title and lost in the regional semifinals. During the regular season, the Cougars tied Los Alamitos and lost to Cathedral Catholic at the Excalibur Tournament, which was won by Los Alamitos. The Cougars also split with SIMA FAB 50 Top 25-ranked Monte Vista. In the postseason, Carondelet won five of six matches, highlighted by victories over Central Section champ Clovis North and Central Coast Section champion Archbishop Mitty.
17 (17) Archbishop McCarthy Southwest Ranches, FL 22-1-2*

School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Archbishop McCarthy delivered the program's first state title in a 2-0 win over Ponte Vedra. UCF signee Jordyn Pitter got the scoring started when her crossed was deflected into the net for an own goal. Lily Katz capped the scoring midway through the second half. In an area once dominated by St. Thomas Aquinas, this McCarthy program, under veteran coach Mike Sica, has become the new standard in South Florida. The team's lone loss was a 4-0 setback to Los Alamitos (Calif.) during a 1-1-1 showing at the South Bay Classic in California.
18 (18) Archbishop Mitty San Jose, CA 21-2-3*
Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I runner-up. CIF Central Coast Open champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,725 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Archbishop Mitty's season ended with a 1-0 loss to Carondelet in the regional final, ending Mitty's 13-match win streak. Mitty defeated North Section Section powers Berkeley and Monte Vista to reach the final. In the 3-0 win over Monte Vista, Annalise Gadbois scored twice and Army commit Svea Neunfinger added a goal. Emma Vane assisted on Gadbois' scores and Kylie McHale assisted Neunfinger. Vane scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over Berkeley.
19 (19) Chaparral Scottsdale, AZ 21-1-3*
Season Complete. Arizona Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: MIT commit Isabella Struckman scored three goals as Chaparral rolled Hamilton 4-0 for the Firebirds' second straight 6A state title and fourth straight state championships. Fellow senior Chloe Steinhilber had two assists against Hamilton. Chaparral won back-to-back 5A titles before moving to 6A for the 2018-19 season. This year's seniors leave with a varsity record of 81-8-9.

School Facts: Private, 1,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Harvard-Westlake's season ended with a 3-2 overtime loss to Upland. The Wolverines also had a regular-season loss to JSerra and tied Grapevine (Texas) at the National Elite Prep Showcase in Texas. Harvard-Westlake had two wins over FAB 50-ranked Chaminade and defeated Lake Travis (Texas).

School Facts: Public, 2,255 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Monte Vista's season ended with a 3-0 loss to Archbishop Mitty in the regional semifinals. Before that, the Mustangs had won five straight playoff contests, which included winning the section crown. The Mustangs, who were led by UCLA commit Megan Edelman and Stanford commit Julia Leontini, split their meetings with Carondelet and had key victories over Berkeley and Brentwood Liberty and a tie with Archbishop Mitty.

NOTES: Northshore dominated Louisiana this past season behind a talented group led by repeat All-Region selection Jordan Grisby, who has signed with Appalachian State. Other standouts include Brooke Cutura (LSU), Mikayla Price (Louisiana Lafayette) and Grace Murders.

School Facts: Private, 5,400 students, grades K-12 (at three campuses).
NOTES: Anuhea Aluli scored in the 51st minute and KS-Kapalama defeated King Kekaulike 1-0 to caps an undefeated season and repeat as state champions. Kalia Kalua was named Most Outstanding Player for the state tournament. Five other KS-Kapalama players, including Aluli, were named to the all-tournament team.
