Adidas adiPure II is a great boot despite new colors
June 6, 2009
It would be interesting to look into the process by which shoe companies decide which new colourways to release. Surely, there’s some kind of elaborate process that centers around the demand of consumers.
Red Adidas adiPure IIBut somehow, we just can’t imagine the people demanding the new Adidas adiPure II colourways set to be released in a few months.
We’ll let you judge for yourself, but the red/white and brown/white combos aren’t the most flattering in our humble opinion. The red, in particular, is somewhat striking, but not necessarily in a good way.
The adiPure has always stayed close to the classic theme, with players like Kaka, Robin Van Persie, Karim Benzema, Frank Lampard and Xabi Alonso on board. And while the brown hue could be construed as “old school,” the colors bring to mind more contemporary boots, where colors are glossy and flashier.
Thankfully, the adiPure still is a terrific boot. A combination of past and present, the shoe has the three-stripe look, with asymmetrical loop lacing for better ball contact and kangaroo leather for durability.
So while the new colourways may not be the best, there’s no reason to throw out the baby with the bath water.
