Danny Webber first pro to endorse Concave
November 13, 2009
Here at TopDrawerSoccer.com we like to acknowledge the little guys. And in the world of soccer cleats, Concave certainly qualifies as one of them.
It’s now been more than a year since the company launched its bid into the arena of football boots - Mike Petersen and the Theoklitos brothers released the first one in Autumn 2008.
Concave bootAs most boots are, these were marketed as new technology. The look and shape of the boots were different and said to have provided a larger sweet spot for when the round ball comes into contact with the curved shoe.
The PT-1 is the company’s flagship model and utilizes Concave MetaGuard Component, Soft Calfi grain leather upper integrated with synthetic micro fiber, a light weight outsole and removable sock liner.
The PT-midi has the same features but is a premium quality boot for serious soccer players, while the PT + boot uses exclusive materials and colors while adding durable K-leather for performance.
The shoes are designed for four demographics: The Weekend Warrior, The Next Big Thing, The Future Footballer or the The Gifted Glamazon.
Separate functions of the boot’s performance are specifically geared to fit those recreational players as opposed to the future stars or young developing footballers.
As the boot has grown, improvements have been made to an early Concave development issue as well as its performance.
In April, Danny Webber became the first professional player to endorse the boots when he wore them for Sheffield United. Where the Concave goes from here is anyone’s guess, but it has been an interesting first year.
