Lotto rotating stud helps players with mobility
April 27, 2009
Called the “Twist'ngo,” last year Lotto developed a device that aids a player’s mobility on the field. It features revolving studs on the sole that rotate along with a player’s movements.
They were the invention of Professor Mauro Testa, who explained that the innovation is critical for injury prevention.
The studs are located in the area of the first metatarsus so that when you change direction it can reduce the negative friction on the foot.
Of course, the product was developed with the intent of improving performance and is said to offer improved balance and potentially speed.
It’s the boot of choice for players like Luca Toni and Martin Petrov. I’d be interested to hear from a few average consumers on whether the Twist’N Go was really advantageous or if they were just spinning their wheels.
Think this technology is revolutionary? Maybe not! Talk about it in our forum.
