The girls class of 2019 is now in the spotlight for the IMG Academy Top 150 Players Spring Updates. The IMG Academy Top 150 is a ranking of the best players from each high school graduating class. The list is assembled by TopDrawerSoccer’s staff with the help of club coaches as well as scouts.
The 2019 class, current high school sophomores, is full of promising players who look to have bright futures at the youth international level as well as at the collegiate level. So Cal Blues defender Kennedy Wesley continues to lead the way in this class. Wesley, a Stanford commit, is the No. 1 player in the class.
With this new release to the list, there are only three players in the top 25 who have not made their verbal commitment yet. Slammers midfielder Jenna Nighswonger leads the way as No. 6 in the class. The midfield maestro has not given her verbal commitment, but remains one of the top talents in the club soccer game.
Fellow Stanford commit Maya Doms is one of the big movers from the spring update list. Doms jumped up from No. 41 in the winter update to No. 17 in the most recent update. Doms’ recent play with the youth national teams helped increase her ranking as she looks to be among the very best in this age group now and in the future.
UCLA commit Brecken Mozingo is the top debutant for this update. The former Sparta United star checks in at No. 28 in the new TopDrawerSoccer Top 150 Players, presented by IMG Academy, for the girls class of 2019. Mozingo, who now plays for Utah Celtic, has been a star with her club team and jumped into the upper echelon of talents with her play at the ODP level.
Mozingo is one of a handful of new players to the rankings with this update.
