Men’s Team of the Week: August 31-September 6

GK Alex Yagudayev, Villanova(m) - The NYCFC academy graduate made 13 saves in a 1-0 shutout of Fordham.

D Matthew Reed, Creighton(m) - A defender on paper, Reed looked the part of a striker this week, scoring twice in a 5-0 shutout of Tulsa, then adding another to defeat Gonzaga 2-0.

D Alex Galloway, Navy(m) - Galloway had a dominant week, scoring in the 3-0 victory over Presbyterian, then playing all 90 in a 0-0 draw with Temple.

D Saar Almoznino, Binghamton(m) - Playing all 180 minutes, Almoznino led two clean sheets, first in a 0-0 with Colgate, then scoring the winner against Central Connecticut State.

M Landon Hickam, SMU(m) - The Texas native helped the Mustangs continue a strong start, scoring twice in the 6-0 rout of Houston Christian, then earning another start in the 1-1 draw with No. 23 Kansas City.

M Tom Mertz, Cleveland State(m) - In an Ironman week, Mertz played every minute, scoring twice in a 3-1 victory over Canisius, then starring in a 0-0 draw with Florida Atlantic.

M Sandro Rabarivony, Georgia State(m) - The 5th-year talent put his experience to use, scoring twice to pace a 4-2 victory over Lipscomb, then adding an assist to defeat Presbyterian 3-0.

M Ransford Gyan, Clemson(m) - Gyan was in peak form versus UCF, recording a hat trick in the 4-1 win, then played 74 minutes in a 1-0 defeat of Syracuse.

F Alex Notzka, Seattle(m) - Seattle and Notzka caught fire this week, starting with his hat trick in a 7-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton, then two goals plus an assist to defeat UC Davis 6-1.

F Elias Taj, UTRGV(m) - Taj was unstoppable versus South Florida, scoring twice and assisting two more in a stunning 5-0 road victory.

F Miller Lashlee, Memphis(m) - Beginning with two goals in a 5-1 win at Butler, then another goal and two assists to top UNC Asheville 3-1, Lashlee had an excellent week.
