20. Cruz Medina – CM – San Jose Earthquakes

DOB: 9/24/2006 | HT: 5-7 | WT: 134 | Last Year’s Ranking: N/A

Medina, who can also play for Mexico, did end up playing for the U.S. U17 squad. He’s had a solid tournament, starting off with a hat trick in the first group game and playing significant minutes. The central midfielder’s involvement in the upcoming campaign is going to be fascinating. In the 2022 MLS NEXT PRO season, Medina made 17 appearances, which is key for a player that is still looking to make his MLS debut. Like for many young central midfielders, showing a willingness and ability to play off the ball is going to factor into how much playing time he receives.
