ECNL Boys Champions League Playoff Preview
There are, to put it lighty, a fair few teams to watch in the ECNL Boys Playoffs. Over 300 teams will compete across five age groups in San Diego this weekend. U13-U17 will partake in group stage play. Every team will have three contests, with a spot in knockout play available for the top two finishers in each group. Those who advance will have to wait a couple of weeks before single-elimination knockout rounds start in mid-July.
For the U18/19s, though, a winner will be crowned in the form of the Champions League. 16 of the nation’s best teams have been organized in a playoff bracket, needing to win four games to get their hands on the trophy.
Here’s a breakdown of every age bracket, with an eye on intriguing matchups, challenging groups and surprise contenders.
