Final 2021 Men's DI Recruiting Rankings

As the men’s Division I soccer season kicks off, TopDrawerSoccer releases the final recruiting class rankings for the 2021 season.

Below are the Top 50 classes, based off new additions for 2021, international signings and transfers.

1. Wake Forest

Commitments: D Boima Cummins (New York Red Bulls – No. 32), F Babacar Niang ([Pennington nj-w] – No. 78), M Roald Mitchell (PDA – No. 91), GK Robert Alphin (North Carolina FC – No. 101), F Mwinso Denkabe (Silicon Valley Soccer Association – No. 108), M Ryan Fessler (Sporting KC), M Eligio Guarino (NYCFC), F Julian Kennedy (Orlando City), M Nicolas Mancilla (Club Universidad de Chile), GK Jake Nicoll (STA), M Tareq Shihab (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Wake’s class maintains hold on the top spot, with five players in the Top 150 rankings. They’ve also added other players on a gap year. That includes Kennedy and Fessler, as the latter is already playing, while Mancilla and Shihab are notable international additions.

2. North Carolina

Commitments: F Andres Cardenas (Inter Miami CF – No. 31), F Tega Ikoba (Portland Timbers – No. 59), F Nicolas Bellini (Real Salt Lake – No. 61), D Matthew Edwards (Atlanta United – No. 116), F Luc Granitur (SIMA – No. 151), GK Quinn Closson (NYCFC), M Andrew Czech (Sockers FC), D Matthew Senanou (Sockers FC), M Gui Vivaldini (Chattanooga Red Wolves)

Transfers: F Gerit Wintermeyer (Bradley), D Christopher Sullivan (Bowling Green), M Mark Winhoffer (Yale)

Depth and experience arrive in Chapel Hill, with three graduate transfers seeking to make an impact in the ACC. UNC has the talent to make it back to the College Cup in December.

3. Portland

Commitments: F Sebastian Nava (LA Galaxy – No. 30), GK Andrew Cordes (Colorado Rapids – No. 45), D Sebastian Hernandez (LA Galaxy – No. 85), D Adrian Aguilar (LA Galaxy – No. 87), F John Atem Kato (SIMA), D Miles Lyons (Barca Academy), D/M Jaylen Rodwell (Western Suburbs FC)

Transfers: GK George Tasouris (Grand Canyon)

Portland is knocking on the door at the top spot. Can this new group continue to push Portland towards the top of the conference or national scene?

4. UCLA

Commitments: F Aaron Edwards (San Jose Earthquakes – No. 47), M Mauricio Gutierrez (Los Angeles FC – No. 69), F Brandon Zelaya (San Jose Earthquakes – No. 76), M Charlie Crockford (Chicago Fire – No. 185), GK Nate Crockford (Chicago Fire – No. 186)

The groundwork is in place for a very good recruiting class for Ryan Jorden as he looks to turn the Bruins back into a national power. Zelaya has plenty of potential as a game-changing college player.

5. Notre Dame

Commitments: D Joshua Ramsey (FC Dallas – No. 40), F Matthew Roou (Indiana Fire Academy – No. 52), D Kyle Genenbacher (St. Louis FC – No. 64), F Michael Rossi (Sockers FC – No. 189), D Mateo Acosta (Chicago Fire), M Bryce Boneau (FC Dallas), GK Liam Egan (St. Xavier), F Eno Nto (Derby County), D Cleveland Sellers IV (Carolina Rapids)

The Irish staff has already been busy with nine players joining with the class of 2021. Nto is an intriguing name to know, as he’s set to join from Derby County, a second-division club in England.
