Generation adidas Cup brings in top talent
The Generation adidas Cup is coming.
Every year, the Dallas Cup pulls most of the club soccer headlines into its massive orbit this time of year. As one of the largest youth tournaments on the planet, the Dallas Cup features some of the top youth teams from literally every corner of the globe. The list of former participants is relatively shocking. There were 39 Dallas Cup alumni on 2014 World Cup rosters, if that tells you anything.
But the Generation adidas Cup deserves its own place in the spotlight. In lieu of a club free-for-all, the GA Cup offers MLS academies a chance to test their mettle against some of the world’s best at the U17 level. Here’s a look at three things to watch as we open the recently cemented tourney on Friday.
