Maya Lambert, Defender, Sockers FC
Class: 2017
Commitment: Purdue
A versatile player who can slot in as a center back, outside back or in the midfield, Maya Lambert is staying in the Midwest.
The Illinois native is heading to the Big Ten after making her commitment to a program on the rise.
“While looking at schools I was told that while a number of schools may work, there will be one that just feels right,” Lambert told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “Purdue felt right. Academics are very important to me, and Purdue’s Engineering and Business Schools have excellent reputations, and I am considering each as a major. I really connected with the coaching staff, and thought the Purdue campus and soccer facilities were excellent. I really wanted to play in the Big 10, and while Purdue has all the elements of a Big 10 school, it also has a more personal, intimate feel than some of the other schools I visited.”
