SoCal, Great Lakes teams start strong at U13

Fullerton Rangers White ticks up a notch to No. 3, just behind Albion SC White-Gins, after amassing a 10-1 record in the Coast Soccer League to lead the Gold-South division. Though the Rangers are ahead of Albion in the CSL standings, their lone loss to No. 2 Albion in a league head-to-head matchup earlier this season keeps them from climbing any further at this point.

Off to a good start in the NPL’s Midwest Development League Academy Division, Internationals SC Red from Ohio climbs four spots to No. 19. Internationals was runner up at the Mead CUSA Cup in the 5 star division back in September.

Fire on fire at U14

Chicago Fire U14 Academy takes a leap up the rankings to No. 14 after a 5-0 start to Development Academy play. Scoring has not been a problem for the Fire, with at least four goals scored in each of the five matches played, Andre Reynolds leading the way with five goals in the last four matches.

New to the rankings this month is Central California Aztecs at No. 25, who remain undefeated in Development Academy play. U14 Boys’ National Team member Marlon Vargas has two goals for the Aztecs in four matches.

FC Dallas moves up at U15

FC Dallas Pre-Academy started NPL’s Texas Pre-Academy league a perfect 3-0, and has yet to concede a goal in league play, upping its ranking five spots to No. 15.

Three teams enter the rankings for the first time this month: PDA 2000, United FA 01 Premier, and BW Gottschee 2000. Both PDA, who debuts at No. 20, and BW Gottchee, at No. 25, are undefeated in Northeast Pre-Academy league play, with PDA first at 4-0-1 and BW Gottschee just behind in the standings in second place. United FA is competing in the Region III Premier League-E in the fall, waiting for the USYS National League play to begin after the Thanksgiving holiday. United leads the RIIIPL-E at the moment with a 5-1 record, and debuts at No. 22.

Next Thursday: U13, U14, and U15 Girls

Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25 is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
