RALEIGH, N.C. — Seventy-one clubs were represented at the always diverse id2 showcase, and that was reflected in the boys Best XI, with each player – including the honorable mentions – being the sole representative of their native team. The state of Florida led the way with three players being selected to the team, each at a different field position. The XI was very strong defensively, with four players on the backline – two of which hail from Maryland – and several defense-oriented midfielders such as FC Wisconsin’s Porter Provan.
