Summaries from today’s matches…
Region III came from behind late to pull out a 1-1 draw with Region II. Region II took the lead in the 16th minute as recent U-17 National Team call-up Amar Sejdic (United FC, KY) scored his third goal of the weekend to lead all scorers. With time winding down, Johnny Nartowicz (Florida Rush) scored the equalizer for Region III on a controversial goal after a scramble in front of the net.
Region I felt they squandered yesterday’s game allowing Region II to come back from two goals down in the second half to win. The Easterners wouldn’t make the mistake again as they jumped on Region IV with three goals in a 12 minute span in the first half and finished out a 4-0 victory. Zachary Zandi (Penn Fusion, E-PA) got things going by converting a penalty kick in the 19th minute and Patrick Berneski (Lehigh Valley United, E-PA) doubled the lead just two minutes later. Daniel Kaiser (SAC, MD) scored again for Region I in the 31st for a three goal lead at the break before William Eskay (FC Frederick, MD) grabbed his second of the weekend a minute after the restart.
