Pound for pound, if we took the top pro prospects in each of our IMG Academy Top 150 rankings and stacked them up against one another, who’s the most coveted in the nation?
We answer the big questions in the Top 150 Spotlight column. And I’m taking a gigantic hack at this one this week.
Of course there are myriad factors to take into account when compiling a list like this. How does the player project in terms of mental attributes? Are they progressing physically? Will they be able to handle the rigors of the pro game, when it comes down to it? All questions that require prognostication, which isn’t particularly easy. But it’s necessary when we’re attempting to fit the top U.S. players into some sort of discernible career track.
There are no deep criteria here besides not having yet signed a pro deal (you can read my current signed pro prospects list here) and needing to be currently ranked on our latest Top 150 updates. That is, 2017 year or later. Other than that, whether you’ve already signed a pro deal, working your way through a DA side or toiling away somewhere else, here are my pound-for-pound top pro prospects who’ve yet to sign pro deals.
