The MLS preseason is upon us. Prior to the opening of training camp, a number of MLS teams have made moves to lock up promising talent to Homegrown contracts for the 2022 season and beyond.
Each year, TopDrawerSoccer lists the top prospect from each MLS club. This list only includes players currently in the academy - players in the college game are not considered for the list. Also, this year we did not include the Canadian clubs because we have not had many opportunities to see those youth teams.
The list of current homegrown players reflects the roster listed on the MLS website as of January 17, 2022. Only players signed from the academy are listed as current Homegrown players.
