Tukwila, Washington – The Crossfire Premier ’91 Girls squad coached by Dick McCormick, assisted by Joe Morris and Peter Hattrup, beat an outstanding Eastside FC ’91 squad this weekend 2-0 to win the Washington State Cup in the U17 Girls age group.

This is the fifth Washington State Championship Cup earned by this team.  Crossfire connected once each half on goals by Annie Sittauer to earn another trip to the Far West Regionals scheduled for June 15-21 in Lancaster, Calif.

Goalkeepers Alexa Hughes and Alexes Lopez-Shaw minded the net, earning the shutout for Crossfire.   The ’91 team looks to improve on their U12 Far West Regional Championship and U15 Far West Regional Finalist record.

The loss ends an outstanding season for Eastside, which played a hard-fought game in the final. For the 2009 month-long State Championship tournament, Crossfire outscored opponents 12-1, and for the season Crossfire collected their 25th win, with 5 ties and only 4 losses. Their season tally for goals is 97, with 18 goals allowed, and they have earned 23 shut-outs.
