U.S. Soccer partners Warner Bros. Discovery (Max) and Telemundo will broadcast the upcoming U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team match against Japan on June 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. local). The match will be played at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, home of the NWSL’s first-place Kansas City Current and the world’s first purpose-built women’s soccer stadium. The match will stream live on Max in English, and Telemundo will stream the match in Spanish on Telemundo Deportes Facebook and YouTube.

“We are committed to our partnership with U.S. Soccer, and a big part of that is expanding the distribution of matches as much as possible across all platforms,” said Miguel Lorenzo, SVP of Sports Content at Telemundo. “Our focus goes beyond the Men’s and Women’s National Teams; supporting youth development and contributing to the growth of the sport at every level is just as important for us, especially as we look ahead to 2026 and our broadcast of the Women's U-17 World Cup.”

The U-17 WNT will play a second match against Japan in a closed-door friendly on July 1 at the University of Kansas Health System Training Center in Riverside, Mo., the training facility for the Kansas City Current. The two-game series is serving as preparation for the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in November, which will be staged annually starting this year.

“This broadcast is an amazing opportunity for our squad to showcase its talent on an international stage,” said U.S. U-17 WNT head coach Katie Schoepfer. “Competing in a stadium built specifically for women against a strong Japan side adds even more significance to the occasion. As we continue preparing for the World Cup in November, experiences like these are invaluable to our development and getting players ready for the spotlight and level of competition ahead.”

Schoepfer, who led the USA to a third-place finish at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the best finish for the USA at the competition since the inaugural tournament in 2008, has named 20 players to the roster for these two matches.

Schoepfer’s roster features four NWSL players and two veterans of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup (midfielder Kimmi Ascanio of the San Diego Wave and forward Micayla Johnson of the Chicago Stars) and nine players who helped the USA earn its 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup berth at the Final Round of the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers in Trinidad & Tobago.
