U.S. Soccer ends Development Academy

U.S. Soccer announced on Wednesday that the Federation made the decision to end the operation of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, effective immediately. U.S. Soccer Academy posted a letter to the clubs on Twitter, which can be viewed below.
Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) had already announced the addition of a number of Development Academy clubs earlier in the day. MLS also announced in the afternoon a new year-round competition for MLS academies.
