U.S. Soccer releases Return to Play Phases
The U.S. Soccer Federation unveiled a phase plan on Return to Play guidelines, joining the list of soccer organizations to outline an approach to play in the backdrop of Covid-19.
"These guidelines and best practices are intended for use WHEN AND IF your local authorities have deemed it safe to return to the practice field," U.S. Soccer Chief Medical Officer George Chiampas wrote in an open letter. "U.S. Soccer is in no way endorsing holding practices or games in violation of any federal, state or local mandates."
Below is a U.S. Soccer-produced chart highlighting the five phases that will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
A Phase One guide was released in conjunction with the announcement. More information can be obtained at ussoccer.com/playon. A series of FAQs for coaches, parents, players, referees, clubs & organizations is also available.
