2015 NWSL draft rewind
Thirty-six players had their name called at January’s NWSL draft, as college seniors across the country nabbed the chance to impress a pro club.
Fast forward three months later, with the season set to start and rosters finalized, a good chunk of players remain, with playing time possible given the departure of a number of stars for the Women’s World Cup in the summer.

Below is a pick-by-pick revisit of the 2016 draft, who stayed and who didn’t.
First Round

4. M Sam Mewis, Western, New York Flash – Signed with the club.
5. F Stephanie McCaffrey, Chicago Red Stars – Traded to the Boston Breakers, where she signed.
6. F Lynn Williams, Western New York Flash – Signed with the club.
7. D Jaelene Hinkle, Western New York Flash – Signed with the club.
8. D Arin Gilliland, Chicago Red Stars – Signed with the club.
9. M Danielle Colaprico, Chicago Red Stars – Signed with the club.
