What a year it’s been for the Canadian Women’s National Team program.

After capturing the Bronze Medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, two members of that team hopped on a plane and took women’s Division I college soccer by storm.

Kadeisha Buchanan, leading West Virginia to the national championship game, is the TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Year. The full national team center back led a defense that conceded 12 goals this year, posting 18 clean sheets along the way.

Picking up Freshman of the Year honors is Jessie Fleming. The Canadian maestro lit up the Pac-12, scoring 11 goals from her midfield spot as UCLA bounced back in a big way this year, making it to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament.
