Barbero, a goalkeeper, made one save in Iona's season-opening 2-0 road win over Hofstra. The Spanish native earned a shutout victory in his first career game and helped the Gaels win their third consecutive season opener.
Iona continues its five game road set at New Hampshire on Sep. 1.
