A total of five members from the Siena Soccer team were awarded with All-MAAC honors at the conference’s postseason awards show Thursday night in Hamden, Connecticut. Senior striker Junior Rosero and junior captain Milorad Sobot were named Second Team All-MAAC selections, while the Saints tied a program record with three All-Rookie Team honorees (2007, 2009, 2011, 2012) in freshmen Eamonn Conway, Matt Crisafulli and unanimous selection Conor McGlynn.

A Second Team All-MAAC selection for the second consecutive season, Rosero leads the Saints and ranks eighth in the conference with 15 points. The West Islip, New York native is also tied for fifth in the league in both goals (six) and game-winning goals (two). His five career game-winners are tied for third most in program history. Named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in his three-year Siena career on Sept. 26, Rosero has appeared in 18 matches (17 starts) this fall and the dynamic offensive talent ranks second nationally averaging 4.72 shots per match.

Sobot has started in 19 of Siena’s 20 matches this fall, anchoring Siena’s backfield. The Belgrade, Serbia product leads all field players on the squad with 1,777 minutes logged. The Saints’ captain has also added three goals for a total of six points offensively.

A local product from nearby Delmar, New York, Conway has seen action in 19 matches including 15 starts, having emerged as a steady performer on the midfield unit. He leads all Siena freshmen with 1,486 minutes played, and has dished out a pair of assists.

A two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week (Sept. 5, Sept. 26), Crisafulli has provided a spark off the Saints’ bench scoring three goals in totaling six points in 15 matches. He scored the game-winning golden goal in Siena’s non-conference finale at George Mason which spurred the Saints on their streak in which they’ve gone unbeaten in nine of their past 12 matches.

McGlynn too has twice garnered MAAC Rookie of the Week acclaim (Oct. 17, Oct. 31). The Middle Village, New York standout ranks second amongst Division I freshman and tied for 18th overall nationally with eight assists. McGlynn has appeared in all 20 matches making 19 starts, and has added a pair of game-winning goals in totaling 12 points.

MAAC major award winners included Cameron Harr (Offensive Player of the Year) from Marist, co-Goalkeepers of the Year Ryan Baird from Rider and Eric Klenofsky from Monmouth, Thomas Teupen (Defensive Player of the Year) of Canisius, and Eric DaCosta (BSN Sports MAAC Coach of the Year) and Eamon Whelan (Rookie of the Year) from regular season champion Quinnipiac.

A total of seven Saints were also named to the MAAC All-Academic Team, an honor reserved for those who has completed at least two semesters at their current institution and who possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Siena’s honorees were seniors David Itoafa, Kamil Pruszko, Chip Sherman and Ryan Vyskocil, junior Sobot, red-shirt sophomore Tommaso Centemero, and sophomore Marko Stojanovic.

The third-seeded Saints continue their quest for the program’s first MAAC Championship Friday, when they face No. 2 seed and defending champion Rider in the conference tournament semifinals. Match time is set for 1 p.m. on the campus of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.
