Gil Santos had to run away from goal to score. He took three stops towards the edge of the box, straining for a cross that was, frankly, underhit. And then, as the ball fell, he rose, the Providence forward' left foot guided his right, sending the ball spinning over his head. The shot cruised passed the keeper, clipping the crossbar on its way into the net. It was a dramatic piece of improvisation, an expertly judged bicycle kick, and, ultimately our goal of the week.
