SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Monmouth University women's soccer team fell at Seton Hall 3-0 on Tuesday night at Owen T. Carroll Field, in non-conference action. The Pirates, now 4-0 on the year, registered a pair of first half goals from Kristina Meier, en route to the home victory.

Monmouth head coach Krissy Turner commented, "We were outplayed for the first 30 minutes and went down 2-0. Then we decided to compete and played a great second half. However the game is 90 minutes."

The Pirates opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Ashley Clarke fed Meier for the first of the duo's two combinations on the night. The pair put Seton Hall ahead 2-0 in the 24th minute against sophomore Jocelyn McCoy (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding).

Seton Hall took a 3-0 lead in the 81st minute on Angie Shehaj's first goal of the year, beating Ashley Lewis(Freehold, N.J./Freehold), which was assisted by Brittney Albrecht and Marie Klemme.

Monmouth, which outshot the Pirates 12-4 in the second half, held a 15-11 in shots overall, while also holding a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

McCoy (1-2) made two saves in the opening half, while Lewis made a pair of stops for the Hawks. SHU's Alyssa Kelly made six saves in goal for the Pirates.

Monmouth returns to action on Friday night, when the Hawks travel to Boston University for a 6:00 p.m. match with the Terriers.
