MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State women's soccer team was off and running from the onset as seven different players scored in a 9-0 rout of Grambling State for a conference win Sunday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Complex.

The Lady Hornets (4-9 overall, 3-2 SWAC) struck first in the 19th minute on a goal from Ariela Lewis and added a blitzkrieg of goals toward the tail end of the first half with three goals scored within a span of five minutes and 36 seconds.

Enjoying a 4-0 advantage at the half, ASU tallied five more goals after intermission for a season-high nine.

Aaliyah Lewis had two goals and two assists, Ar. Lewis scored twice while Larissa WhiteInma Martinez andKaitlyn Farrar each recorded one goal and one assist.

White, Farrar and Mercedes Padilla all scored their first of the season.

In net, Gianna Guyot earned the victory in 53 plus minutes of action and combined for the team shutout withZaria Maynard and Lauren Camp

The trio combined to make five saves.

Jennifer LeSage made 11 saves for the Lady Tigers (0-8, 0-6 SWAC).

"We talked about finding a rhythm offensively, be able to possess the ball, hold the ball and move up the field to create some scoring opportunities," said ASU head coach Jodie Smith.

"We were doing that.  Our decisions in the final third were up a little bit. We found the game.  You love it when you can scatter the scoring around and everybody can add a contribution to the game.  Larissa [White] has been playing really well and creating her shot.  That's the first time that she struck a really nice goal today.  And, then it was nice for Kat [Farrar] to get her first one of the year as well."

ASU goes back on the road to face Southern on Friday at 4 p.m. in a SWAC match up.
