Northeastern's goal came in the 29th minute on a header by Conner Alexander off a throw-in from Nikko Lara.

The Huskies out-shot JMU 12-9, and NU goalie Oliver Blum made three saves to get the shutout. One of those stops came in the 82nd minute, when he tipped a shot by JMU senior Christian McLaughlin over the crossbar.

JMU redshirt junior goalkeeper Colin Newcity finished with two saves.
