Marist Ends Trip With Win Over Sacred Heart
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Marist men's soccer team blanked Sacred Heart 1-0 on Sept. 13 to finish 3-1 in its four-game road stretch. The Red Foxes are 4-1-0 this season, while Sacred Heart remains winless at 0-4-1.
Junior Bryan Coyt (Port Chester, N.Y.) scored his first goal of the season in the 14th minute off a feed from junior Steve Arraiano (Putnam Valley, N.Y.). The Red Foxes never looked back, as freshman goalkeeper Mark Rajovic (Katonah, N.Y.) made four saves to earn his third shutout of the season.
Sacred Heart junior Mahmoud Kafel had two shots on goal and freshman Ezra Siyadhuba finished with three shots, one on goal. Junior Tucker Hackett made seven saves in the losing effort.
Fouls hurt the Pioneer offense early, as they committed 13 in the first half. Marist outshot Sacred Heart 13-8 in the contest, including taking an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.
The Red Foxes will return to Tenney Stadium and host the Army Black Knights at 7 p.m. Sept. 16. The game will be streamed live on the Red Fox Network.
