Marist Falls to Fairfield at Home
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Fairfield on Oct. 4. It was the second loss for the Red Foxes in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play this season.
The Stags scored their first two goals 2:30 apart in the first half and added two more in the second half.
Freshman Ashley Houghton (Danbury, Conn.) made four saves with senior Amanda Epstein (Jericho, N.Y.) and sophomore Nicole Gerber (Woodbury, N.Y.) each registering a shot in the contest.
Fairfield (9-2-1, 3-0-0) got goals from four different players, including sophomore Cassidy Boegel's fifth score of the season. Sophomore Pam Coufos had a match-high four shots to go along with a goal.
The Red Foxes (1-7-2, 0-2-2) will continue MAAC play with a contest against Iona at 3 p.m. Oct. 8.
