MEMPHIS, TENN. - Memphis (0-1-0) dropped its season opener to Wisconsin (1-0-0) at Mike Rose Stadium on Friday. The Tigers drew a record home-crowd 1,105 surpassing the previous record of 1,057 set in 2010 against UAB.

Sophomore Chandler Gagnon put the Tigers on the board early with some help from Liam Collinsand Mark Sherrod. Collins served from right, Sherrod deflected the ball towards Gagnon who then headed it from the left to the left post for the score to give the Tigers the early lead 1-0 in the fifth minute.

Lewis Ellis added to the early Memphis lead in the 20th minute, the sophomore blasted a laser from 20 yards out that went through the goalkeeper's hands to give the Tigers a 2-0 advantage. FreshmanAdam Camillo recorded his first career-assist on the play.

In the second half, the pace of the game slowed as both defenses brought the game to a stalemate and the game became increasing physical. Wisconsin broke the stalemate off a corner kick that was cleared then gathered by Drew Connor at the top of the box by for the goal, cutting the Tigers lead to one.

In the 78th minute, the Badgers tied the game when Joey Tennison served the ball to the middle of the box to Chris Prince for the goal tying the game at two. Wisconsin took the lead in the 83rd minute when the ball was cleared off a free kick and booted from 38-yards by Derek Pitts for the go ahead goal 3-2.

The Tigers fired back in the late minutes of the game when Liam Collins served the ball from the right side to Mark Sherrod in the 84th minute. Sherrod buried the shot from 15 yards for the goal to even the score 3-3. Collins recorded his second assist of the game on the play, the junior's last multi-assist game came against Nebraska-Omaha (3) in 2011 and it was the fifth multi-assist game in his Memphis career.

Wisconsin's Jide Oluyedun nailed the game winner in the 88th minute firing a shot from 19-yards to put the Badgers up by one. Tennyson was credited with an assist on the play, his second in the game.
