Men's Rankings Shuffle, Conf. Tourneys Near

Akron is the new #1 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men's College Soccer Tournament 48 National Ranking this week, following their two victories and Maryland’s first loss of the season, 4-2 to Wake Forest. The Terrapins drop to #2.

The ranking is an effort to project the postseason men's college soccer NCAA Tournament field of 48 each week, including the automatic qualifiers from every DI conference. The ranking update is posted after reviewing all results from the previous week.

Just one more week remains until the NCAA Tournament field is announced, with conference tournament sure to throw additional wrenches into the mix as we seek to determine which 48 teams will get to compete for the biggest prize of all.

Recipients of the honor, along with the entire Team of the Week, is chosen after examining Division I match summaries each week.

M:  Patrick Hodan, Notre Dame(m) – Scored twice and added an assist as the Fighting Irish defeated Syracuse in a Big East Conference Tournament match.

M: Zach Bolden, Denver – Scored a goal and added an assist in a 3-2 win over Air Force.

F:  Sean Okoli, Wake Forest – Scored a goal and added an assist as the team beat Maryland 4-2.

F: James Rogers, New Mexico – Scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-0 win over Houston Baptist.  

F: Quentin Albrecht, Florida InternationalScored 2 goals and added an assist as the team defeated Florida Atlantic 5-0.

F: Luke Spencer, XavierScored 2 goals and added 3 assists as the Musketeers won twice.
