CLEVELAND, Ohio - Junior Callie O'Donnell provided the first-half goal and classmate Paige Lincicum the shutout as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team rolled on, posting a 1-0 victory over Cleveland State University Saturday night at Krenzler Field.
 
"I am proud that the team was able to get another win on the road tonight," Milwaukee head coach Troy Fabiano said. "In the first half, we came out strong and were able to dictate much of the play. In the second half, we were able to hold the lead and preserve the shutout by staying organized and playing hard."
 
The Panthers (8-3-2, 5-0-0 Horizon League) stayed red hot with the shutout victory over the previously league-unbeaten Vikings (7-5-1, 3-1-0 Horizon League), improving to a perfect 5-0 in conference play with their fourth win in a row overall. The victory comes in a stretch of just one loss in the past 10 (7-1-2) and improves UWM's all-time record over Cleveland State to an impressive 15-0-1.
 
A relatively even game from the start, O'Donnell came through again, netting her Horizon League-leading seventh goal of the season at the 37:04 mark. The scoring play was started by senior Kelsey Holbert, who played a ball down the left wing. Sophomore Aubrey Krahn ran onto it and sent a serve back to the top of the goal. O'Donnell pounced on it, settled and fired, easily finding space to the right post for the only goal of the night.
 
From there the Panthers leaned on the defense, staying organized while fending off just eight total shots by the Vikings on the night.
 
The shutout was the fifth of the season for the squad and the third for Lincicum, who needed a pair of second-half saves to claim the eighth clean sheet of her career. As a result, she extended her current scoreless streak to 235:10 overall.
 
For the game, CSU did grab the 8-to-6 edge in shots overall and 2-1 in shots on target. When all was said and done, O'Donnell converted UWM's only shot on goal into the lone score of the night. She led the way with three of the six shots overall.
 
The team will get a week off to prepare for its next contest, a league match at home when it hosts Detroit Saturday. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
